Urinary calculus or Urolithiasis is a stone like body composed of urinary salts bound together by a colloid matrix of organic materials. It is found commonly in Kidneys, ureter, urinary bladder or urethra. Calcium oxalate and calcium Phosphate stones are the most commonest stones found. The usual symptoms of this disease are cramping pain which extends from loin down the line of ureter to groin. Vomiting and sweating will be associated. There may be blood in urine.
Does and Donts
- Take more amount of water.
- Avoid citrus and other sour fruits.
- Salt intake must be reduced.
- Avoid milk and milk products.
- Reduce intake of animal products.
- Take barley, tender coconut, radish, horse gram, drum stick, ginger etc

Siddha Medicines
The following medicines may be used for the treatment of renal stones with the advice of a siddha physician.
- Nerunjil Kudineer 60 ml twice daily before food.
- Mavilinga pattai churnam 5gm twice daily with hot water before food.
- Jalamanjari 200 - 300 mg twice daily with honey after food.
- Njandukkal Parpam 100-200 mg twice daily with hot water or honey before food.
- Tab. Jalothari mani 1 pill twice daily with hot water.
