Anal fissure is a small tear in thin moist tissue that lines the anus. This may occur mainly due to hard large stools which will result in bleeding and pain during and after bowel movements. Untreated fissures may leads to larger fissures, extensive scar tissue at the site of the fissure and also anal fistula.
The following medication ca be used with the strict advice of a siddha physician for better results.
Internal medication
- Thriphala churnam 5 gm with hotwater morning and night after food.
- Nilavarai churnam 5 gm with hot water at bed time
- Thetran kottai lehyam 10 gm morning and night after food.
- Karunai Lehyam 10gm morning and night after food.
- Pavala parpam 100 mg with ghee as adjuvant morning and night after food.
- Nathai parpam 200-400 mg with ghee or butter twice daily after food.
External application
- washing with thriphala decoction
- Amritha vennai - applied before and after defecation
- Murivennai
- Masikkai ennai
While taking medicines , one should avoid spicy food items, curd, oily food items etc. One should take fiber rich food, Yam, goose berries, onion, butter milk etc in more quantity.
