Paronychia (Nagachuttu) Treatment in siddha

 Paronychia ( Nagachuttu / Kuzhi nagham)is a skin infection that develops around the nail. It occurs due to bacteria or fungal infection. It affect skin around the nail of at least one finger or toe. It typically develops around the edges of the nail at the bottom or sides. This skin infection causes inflammation, swelling, and discomfort around the nail. Abscesses containing pus can also form.


 Treatment

 

External Application

  1. Padikara neer - used for washing purpose
  2. Thriphala churna - Decoction - used for washing
  3. Punga thylam - for external appliucation on nails
  4. Mathan Thylam- For external appication and bandage

 Internal medicines

  1. Rasagandhi mezhugu 500 mg 10 1 gmtwice daily with palm jaggery after food.
  2. Parangipattai churnam 5 gm Twice daily with Milk.
  3. Parangipattai kudineer 30-60 ml Twice daily Before food.
  4. Arugan kattai Kudineer 30-60 ml Twice daily.

 One should maintain nail hygiene and should follow proper medication to get rid of this disease.
